据警方此前介绍，2023年11月接到崇明港西镇慎修庵报警称，功德箱内香火钱被偷。

原来，庵内每十天清空一次功德箱内的香火钱，工作人员发现，在香客人数差不多的情况下，多个功德箱里的香火钱明显减少。同时，每个功德箱上的合页镙丝都有松动，有盗窃痕迹。通过查看寺内监控，工作人员发现有人偷偷潜入盗窃了功德箱里的钱，于是赶忙报警。
