潇湘晨报记者联系到爆料人，对方透露其身份系该校学生。“事情发生在8月22日上午10点左右，事发地点在学校教学楼。两人都是学校的学生，伤人者疑是该校网站工程专业的，另一人疑是班委的成员。伤人者觉得对方管得严、管得太多了，就拿刀捅了对方。”
该爆料人提供的图片中，有一件白色衣服，上面有大量的疑似血迹。“我不清楚他有没有生命危险，从血迹来说，受伤应该很严重。”
8月22日，潇湘晨报记者联系到上海市公安局奉贤分局五四派出所的一名工作人员，对方证实8月22日八维教育上海宏烨校区的学生伤人事件，派出所已出警，并表示目前被捅学生受伤了。至于是否有生命危险，她表示不清楚。
记者多次拨打八维教育上海宏烨校区电话，均无人接听。其总部客服工作人员表示“没听说过”，迅速挂断电话。
